Our Privacy Policy
When you become a member of the National Association of Language Advisers (NALA), you provide us with your name and email address so that we can create a log-in profile for you on our website, which is one of the services we provide to you. Without these two pieces of information, we are not able to activate your membership of NALA.
Once you have access to the website, you personally have the option to add further information (eg a picture, biography, additional contact details) to your profile, to assist other members in finding you. It is your choice as to whether you provide anything beyond your name and email address. We will not add any information to your profile unless specifically requested by you to do so.
Any information which is contained in your profile is visible and searchable on the Members’ List page of the website, which is only accessible to logged-in members and not the general public. If you do not wish your details to be seen by other members, you can be removed from the visible member list by emailing communications@nala.org.uk . An exception to this are members of the Executive Committee and Regional Conveners, whose email addresses are to be found on the public pages of the website in the event that non-members would like to contact them to discuss joining the organisation. If members of the Executive Committee and Regional Conveners do not wish their email addresses to be accessible, then they should also contact communications@nala.org.uk .
We will only ever use your email address to contact you regarding NALA business (for example, meetings, the annual conference) and to keep you up to date regarding additions to the website which you may find of interest. We will never pass or sell your personal data to a third party.
When you end your membership of NALA, you will be removed from our membership list and mailing list, and will no longer receive communication from us as an organisation.
