  • the importance of education, particularly the learning of languages for all ages and for society at large

  • the association having a positive impact on standards and quality

Who is eligible to join?

Any professional who

  • provides advice, support, training and inspection in the languages field

  • shares the association's beliefs

You don't have to be in any particular type of job to be eligible: it depends on what you do rather than who employs you - for example, we actively welcome applicants from Specialist Language Colleges, Initial Teacher Training, Further and Higher Education, Local Authorities, Advanced Skills Teachers, etc

 

What are the benefits of membership?

Members enjoy exclusive access to a dynamic network of professional contact through

What does membership involve?

  • annual membership fee (£50 - tax deductible)

  • active participation in meetings, seminars and events exclusively for your region

  • access to nala's major annual national conference

  • involvement in nala networking activity

 

Step by step: how to join

  1. download and read our introductory leaflet (below)

  2. complete and submit an application form to our membership services officer (hard-copy or as an email attachment) who will contact you, and ...

... if your application is successful

  1. you will be asked to pay a membership fee, by:
    - completing a standing order mandate and giving it to your bank (below), or
    - passing the proforma invoice (below) to any third party (eg employer) who has agreed to pay your membership fee on your behalf

  2. you will be allocated an exclusive username and password for accessing the nala website, where you must ensure all your contact details are accurate (these will have been entered already, based on the data supplied in your application form)

  3. your local nala regional convener will contact you to "welcome you aboard"

  4. you can look forward to a long and happy membership of an association which you will surely find essential to your work
